Top 10 Delusional Fanbases

There has been a marked increase of Fanbases who think their team is much better than they actually are since the end of the 20th century. The fans hopes for their team get destroyed when their superstar player gets injured or something else that isn’t good happens to him. Take heart, Fanbases. There’s always next year.

#10) Detroit Lions. Their fans think they’re going to be Super Bowl Champions with Jared Goff at quarterback and an owner who is cheap, and still believe in the curse of Bobby Layne to this day. It’s bad on both ends of the spectrum.

#9) Los Angeles Dodgers. There is no way that the Dodgers are going to win another World Series with their manager letting the analytics department do his job for him.

Sports Blackouts are so twentieth century

Ah, the old TV blackout. The source of frustration for all local sports fans as far as the local teams go. Let’s face it, world; Sports blackouts are so twentieth century. The population of metropolises has become too great to justify allowing blackouts to exist.

Well, then, how are teams going to fill up their stadiums? First off, run heavy promotional offers, like half-price admission, free hot dog and soda, bobblehead, free programs to the first X number of customers, etc… Teams can also require a viewer to fork over a monthly or annual fee for watching the games. But blacking games out is a huge PR nightmare.

Last I checked, the time machine has not been invented. It never will. Blackouts should not be around in the twenty-first century.

A Hockey Dynasty?

First of all, Congratulations to the Los Angeles Kings for their second Stanley Cup in three seasons. This one was more exciting than the one in 2012. At least 5 games went into OT in the playoffs. I even heard a commentator say, “If you have heart issues, turn off the TV.” That’s how dramatic the whole Stanley Cup playoffs have been.
